Tiny Ghost Press Newsletter 2.0, Issue #6, July 31, 2024
Hey summer scaries!
Here at Tiny Ghost Press we have been having the brattiest of summers, esspecially as this year we are celebrating Summerween in earnesty for the first time!
Who knew summerween was a thing? Not us, until now!
So while we've been trying to soak up as much vitamin d as possible, enjoying an afternoon barbecue, a massive plate of sliced watermelon with a smatter of maldon salt, or a trip to the pool we've also been embracing the scary!
Here's a little bit of what we've been up to this July:
We had our first full catalog Summerween Sale. For the month every single TGP title was on sale, meaning readers could grab the perfect hauting beach read in ebook format over on Amazon from just $1.99. This is the first time every book we've ever published has been on sale so this was pretty massive and we are so excited to be able to reach more and more readers. The sale lasts until the end of the month, meaning there's still a few hours left. So if you haven't head on over to Amazon and grab a spooky summer bargain.
We also celebrated reach 5k followers on Instagram and 11k on Tiktok, two massive accomplishments which mean that we're expanding out reach and hopfully giving access to queer representation to more people.
I (Josh) had a birthday where I turned 35+ and moved house, meaning the TGP office has moved (pretty much just down the road), and while that meant I was a little out of it for a couple of weeks, life is settling back down and I was still able to enjoy some summer vibes.
We took a look back at the first six months of the year at our two 2024 releases so far. Girls Night by I.S. Belle and Trailer Park Prince by Andre Bradley and we stared into our crystal ball to glimpse into the future and start promoting our two upcoming releases that will see us through the rest of the year. These are Haunting Melody by Chloe Spencer and Keep It In The Dark by Justin Arnold. We are really proud of our whole slate of books this year. Super proud of the two books that are out already and really, really excited for you to see what's coming out in October and December. Girls Night and Trailer Park Prince are included in the ebook sale, so if you haven't check them out. And Haunting Melody and Keep It In The Dark are available for presale, and as always presales are so, so important to help us build buzz and get our books in front of more people, so we would encourage you to preorder if you're into teen ghost hunters or romantic gay vampires.
Additionally, we're putting the call out for ARC readers for Haunting Melody, so if this sounds like your sort of book (check out the blurb on the books page here), you can sign up to receive a review copy by emailing info@tinyghostpress.com with your details and the platforms where you post and review books. We love working with reviewers to help promote our books and if you're someone who loves talking about books, loudly and often, we'd love to hear from you.
One important update is that we (for the first time) closed our submissions. As we're such a small press we're really limited in how many books we can release and we found ourselves struggling to find room in our catalog for all the great books we received. So we thought instead of leaving submissions open all the time as we'd planned, it would better behove our prospective authors to wait and then open submissions again when we have the time and space to truly consider their work. We're thinking submissions will open again around Spring next year, but we will confirm around that time. If you have a book you think would be perfect for us, please hold onto it, keep an eye on our socials for news of reopening, and send it over when the time is right.
And finally we have been hard at work behind the scenes getting our 2025 slate ready to go and acquiring new books for 2026 and beyond! We are super pumped to be working with some new authors and for the privilege of working with some of the authors we've already published. We have some banging books to bring you. I can't wait to share more details.
I think that's it for now. Summerween has been hot and eventful and we hope you've been bratting it up in the sun as well.
Stay scary...
Josh x
P.s. we're taking a little break from all the extra tidbits this month, it's simply too sunny! But we'll be playing around the the newsletter format in the coming months, so stay tuned, it'll be worth it!
