Happy Halloween 2024!!!

Tiny Ghost Press Newsletter 2.0, Issue #9, October 31, 2024

Hey glamor ghouls!

Another Halloween is upon us! This is the time of year where our ghostly powers are at their strongest, where we can commune with the world of the living, and enjoy the spookiest of seasons.

This spooky season has been especially busy for us with a whole host(body) of giveaways, sales, promotions, and one big reveal!

Starting with the biggest, freshest, and gooiest of the bunch, today we are so so thrilled to reveal the cover of our upcoming queer, dystopian, western inspired fantasy adventure, from debut author Kree Sullivan, Blackblood!

You may have seen our black candle Insta posts where we've been teasing a big reveal and here it is, the cover for Blackblood.

With stunning art by Alexa Sharpe this cover perfectly captures the rollicky adventure and diverse cast of this novel. Read on for the full blurb...

A grieving smuggler.

A fugitive mage.

A turncoat Huntsman.

The heist of their lives.

Teenage smuggler, Armina, never intended to inherit the Blackblood, a truck loaded with illegal magical artifacts. But when tragedy strikes, leaving her in charge with only her irritable ex-girlfriend for company and with the magic-hating Huntsmen on her tail, she's determined to follow in the footsteps of her murdered Captain.

When Armina discovers a fugitive mage hiding aboard her truck, dripping their black blood, she can't ignore their pleas for help. The mage desperately wants to rescue their mother from the Huntsmen's headquarters in the Western mountains, a mission Armina knows is doomed to fail, but one she can't ignore.

As they tear across a dust bowl wasteland toward the dark spires in the west, secrets from Armina’s past come into view, lit by the blinding headlights of the roaring truck.

Secrets that could endanger the mission, the truck, and her splintering found-family.

Blackblood will be out April 1, 2025, marking our first release for the new year. And it's available for preorder now, wherever books are sold!

Let us know what you think of the cover in the comments below!

Along with the reveal of the black candle, we've also been sharing some spooky stories this month via our amazing authors. Many thanks to Chloe Spencer, Justin Arnold, Xan van Rooyen, and Andre Bradley for reading excerpts from their Tiny Ghost books. You can catch these over on our Insta, Tiktok, and Youtube channel. But here is Justin reading an excerpt from his upcoming gay vampire romance, Keep It In The Dark, for your Halloweeny pleasure:

Also this month, I had the pleasure of speaking about indie publishing on a panel at MGM Comic Con. It was such a great experience talking about how we publish our books and getting to share a little of the behind the scenes magic from Tiny Ghost with the people there. The whole convention has a ridiculous energy and I had a great time. Much thansk to my fellow panelists and to Ingram for inviting me. Hopefully, we will be there next year as well!

All month long we've been running a sale on Kindle, with all of our back catalog reduced. This has been an amazing opportunity for readers to snag as many Tiny Ghost books as they can during October. And the sale is still running until the clock hits midnight. Meaning there's still time to grab yourself a bargain! Head over to Amazon now to make the most of this spooky sale!

Over on our Insta we've been running a giveaway all this month and will be announcing the winner later today. One lucky ghoul will take home all four of this years releases in hardback, plus a Tiny Ghost tee and baseball cap. Congrats to the winner! Head on over to our socials to see if that's you!

And finally we've been working hard on a couple of upcoming events that will have you screaming!

Firstly, we're gearing up for the release of Keep It In The Dark on December 3rd, and right now you can apply to attend the prestigious boarding school Rowan and Casper (the enemies turned lovers from the book) attend. Applications for Mockingbird Preparatory Academy are open now and successful applicants will receives a welcome pack before the new semester starts. Fill out your application now for the chance at some fun swag and a place at the school!

And last of all we've been getting ready for this year's YALC, being held as part of Winter Comic Con at the London Olympia on November 16-17. At our stall this year we'll be hosting a couple of competitions, (come for the tomb-bola, stay to guess how many eyeballs are trapped in a mason jar), selling all of our books, including advance copies of Keep It in The Dark, author of Against The Stars, Christopher Hartland will be popping in to sign copies of his book, we'll be revealing a hotly anticipated cover (can you guess which one?) and Tony the tiny ghost may even make an appearance. We'd love to say hi if you're coming to YALC and encourage you to do so for all the booky goodness. Oh and we may be hiding tiny ghosts around the venue each corresponding to a different prize, so keep those grapes peeled! We'll see you there!

This month has been hectic and haunting, but also inspiring, energising, and truly spooktacular. We've had so much fun getting into the spooky spirit and are so excited for what's to come the rest of this year.

I hope you have a safe and spooky Halloween! Let us know what you're dressing as this year in the comments. Any book inspired costumes???

Until next time... stay scary...
